IEA Global Peer Review |
| At the 2008 Hokkaido Summit, G8 leaders declared that they “strongly support the launching of 20 large-scale CCS demonstration projects globally by 2010, taking into account various national circumstances, with a view to beginning broad deployment of CCS by 2020”. |
| An International Energy Agency (IEA) Global Peer Review will be held in Bergen, Norway, on 27 May 2009. The Bergen meeting will review the documentation to be reported to the G8 in 2010 on the status of the above mentioned 20 large-scale CCS demonstration projects. |
| The Peer Review will be organised in the margins of the High-level conference on CCS on 27-28 May. The organiser of this side-event is the IEA Working Party for Fossil Fuels, which is the responsible IEA body for fossil fuel policies and technologies, including environmental and energy security related issues. |
| Please see the programme for the Peer Review here. The event will be opened by the Norwegian Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Mr Terje Riis-Johansen (tbc), and an IEA / G8 country high-level representative (tbc). |

| The Peer Review will take place at the SAS Radisson Hotell Norge, conveniently located within walking distance from the Grieg Hall, where the High-level Conference on CCS will be opened the same day, in the afternoon. |
