Travel to Bergen

By plane:

There are flights to Bergen from every continent via Oslo, Copenhagen or Amsterdam. Bergen Airport Flesland is approximately 20 kilometres south-west of the centre of Bergen. It is served by airport buses, scheduled buses and taxis. For more information about the airport, see here.

 
The airport bus between Bergen Airport Flesland and the centre of Bergen takes approximately 30 minutes and departs every 15 minutes between 06.00 a.m. and 21.00 on weekdays. Click here for detailed information.

The taxi stand is just opposite the main entrance. The drive to the city centre takes approximately 20 - 30 minutes and costs NOK 250 – 300, depending on traffic.

 

By train:

You may decide to travel to Bergen by train from Oslo. The journey takes approximately seven hours, and takes you across Europe's largest plateau - Hardangervidda. You will see some of the most beautiful, wild and unspoiled scenery that Norway has to offer. The train also provides comfortable sleeping berths for overnight travel.  You can book tickets and find more information about train travel in Norway here

Tourism

If you would like to see more of the beautiful fjord and mountain scenery near Bergen, there are various round trips to choose between. These are based on public transport such as trains, boats and buses. A flexible ticket allows you to stop and spend a few days at various places of interest on the way.
